POSITION: Key holder, full and part- time available

RESPONSIBILITIES
In general, the Key Holder’s primary responsibility is to assist in directing the sales effort of the store. The Key Holder also has responsibility for select daily operations in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
Merchandising
· Assist the store management in merchandising the store in accordance with company directed standards.
· Focus on supervising the sales staff to generate sales through effective sales techniques and approved customer service practices.
· Maintain the selling floor in a neat and attractive manner at all times.
· Maintain current knowledge of the product and how to apply it while servicing the customer.
· Sell merchandise.
Personnel
· Supervise the staff in the absence of the store management.
· Assist in the training of sales staff on company policies and procedures and in particular, selling techniques.
· Ensure sales staff is well versed in company directed customer service practices.
· In the presence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, the Key Holder performs duties under the direction of Store Management.
· Comply with all company directed policies and procedures as they relate to the store operations. This includes: receiving of merchandise, store opening and closing, cash register transactions, daily cash reconciliation and inventory control.
· Maintain security of the store during hours and understand the operations of the store security system if applicable.
SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM SUCCESSFULLY
· Represent Hartstrings in a professional manner.
· Promote “team spirit” through positive leadership skills.
· Strong product knowledge, fashion sense to assist in the presentation of the merchandise in the manner conductive to maximizing sales.
· The interactive skills necessary to relate and understand the needs of Hartstrings customer and to effectively supervise the selling staff.
· Initiate, responsibility and thoroughness to maintain the procedural integrity of the store.
· The ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Four- year college degree preferred. Necessary to be considered promotional through the career path to Store Manager.
· College degree or relevant prior experience in a retail store to be hired directly.
OR
· Promoted from a Hartstrings Sales Associate position.
MISCELLANEOUS
· Flexible work schedule.
· Eligible to participate in store contests.
· Hourly, non-exempt.
· Store Key Holder.
