RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sales Associate’s primary responsibility is to sell merchandise and service the Hartstrings Customer. Under the direction of the store management team, the Sales Associate assists in maximizing the store’s volume in the area of sales, customer service, merchandising and operations.

SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

·        Greet all customers as they enter the store.

·        Assist customers in fitting room.

·        Educate self on features and benefits of current merchandise and how to apply that knowledge while servicing customers.

·        Participate in customer incentive programs such as preferred customer programs and client books.

·        Participate in store contests and events.

·        Meet store sales.

MERCHANDISING

·        Maintain selling floor in a neat and attractive manner at all times.

·        Assist store management in merchandising the store in accordance with company standards.

·        Prepare merchandise for selling floor presentation.

OPERATIONS

·        Learn and apply register procedures when servicing customers.

·        Perform all other duties assigned by store management.

·        Asset protection and loss prevention.

·        Stay abreast of policies and procedures.

SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM SUCCESSFULLY:

·        Represent Hartstrings in a professional manner.

·        Excellent communication skills.

·        Strong initiative to service the customers and sell merchandise.

·        The ability to interact, relate to and understand the needs of the Hartstrings customer.

·        Ability to stand for long periods of times.
